Why We Love The 2022 Mazda CX-30

Mazda is hands down one of the most well-rounded car companies that have graced the mainstream car-loving public with its rides. The company has some of the best sports cars, they have awesome vehicles that can haul people to various places, and they are also known for their industry standard-setting crossover SUVs like the CX series. Mazda has amassed trust from the car-buying public and has done so by steadily building on the quality of its rides, without the cars ever feeling too jam-packed with gadgets.

One of the company’s most recent compact crossover SUVs is the Mazda CX-30, which made its debut for the 2020 model year. Now, there’s a new model for 2022 and as usual, Mazda designed it to be a catch-all in terms of a car that people rely on for speed, convenience, and in-car entertainment. Not only that, but this car has a starting price tag that won’t break the bank like some of its biggest competitors, According to Kelly Blue Book, this option from Mazda starts at just $22,200.

There has been a lot said about this sporty SUV already, but here’s why we love the 2022 Mazda CX-30.

The 2022 Mazda CX-30 Is A Fast SUV

Mazda is a company that’s known for producing high-performance cars on different platforms. As such, this new cross-over from the automaker puts power and speed, at the forefront of an overall great vehicle. As is with typical with new cars these days, the 2022 Mazda CX-30 comes with a host of powertrain that offer something for almost everyone. However, the most popular trim is powered by an inline-4 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine with a double overhead cam, and it’s turbocharged. This is an all-wheel-drive car, and it delivers the power via a 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission.

In terms of horsepower, it has a max of 227 at 5,000 rpm. For torque, it’s 310 lb-ft at 2,000 rpm. The 2022 Mazda Cx-30 is also pretty fuel-efficient. It gets an impressive 30 miles to the gallon with highway driving, and 22 in the city. That’s a combined 25 miles per gallon. This is an overall range of 279.4 miles in the city and 381 on the highway. Sure there are more impressive options for this category, but it’s hard to beat the performance of the company that once had the tagline of “zoom zoom.”

For the sake of comparison, the base model of the 2022 Mazda CX-30 is also powered by a 2.5-liter engine, but it has a max power of 186 at 6,000 rpm, according to Mazda.

The 2022 Mazda CX-30 Is Stacked With Technology

Another reason why we love this car so much is the interior features. This has become a normal trait of Mazda – – ensuring that the inside of its cars not only feel new but that they feel advanced and state of the art. One area where Mazda has always succeeded, and here is no different, is the sound system. This one comes with a Bose 12 speaker sound system that’s sure to blow your socks off as you’re playing the new Beyoncé song while cruising down the road. What Mazda promises when it comes to this sound system is that drivers will hear their music as the artists intended.

As for infotainment, this crossover SUV comes with an 8.8-inch display that’s operated either through the multifunction commander control or via voice. Apple CarPlay integration is also supported, which makes it easier for iPhone users to access maps, play music from their preferred streaming services, and find contacts. Though the Mazda website doesn’t mention Android Audio, it works as well.

This is also a safe vehicle. However, as with more and more new cars, the best safety features only come with either a subscription or an upgraded package. With the 2022 Mazda CX-20, you get the i-Activesense suite of safety features with the Premium Plus Package. This has things such as traffic jam assist, parking sensors, and smart brake support. Even without this upgraded package, the new CX-30 has all the basic safety features you really need. The rest are just extras, for the most part.

The 2022 Mazda CX-30: Final Thoughts

This is an all-around great vehicle from Mazda, which is not surprising because the company doesn’t have very many duds as they are one of the most consistent automakers of recent memory. The 2022 CX-30 continues the trend of excellence from the company and brings a new crossover worthy of buying in 2022 to the market. As usual, this is an incredibly stylish ride that looks as sporty as it performs.

The great thing about cars like this is that they are designed to have multiple purposes. Sure they can be your typical family car, but it has a kick to it that begs to be pushed, which also makes something this good for the gearheads that just want a swift vehicle and the space is simply an added bonus. This is one of the reasons why Mazda continues to have such great success.
