Love Island drops first 2022 promo with Love is Blind dig

Love Island is back next month, and ITV have unveiled a sassy new trailer.

The promo for the upcoming eighth series is set to premiere on ITV ahead of Britain’s Got Talent tonight (May 14), but have dropped it online for you to watch now.

Featuring Wallace and Gromit-y characters, the trailer includes voiceover man Iain Sterling letting you know that Love Island is still the top reality dating show, taking a cheeky swipe at Netflix’s love is blind by stating “Love isn’t blind, it’s neon.”

While ITV haven’t unveiled the cast for this year’s series yet, we do know that Laura Whitmore is returning alongside her other half to host the show, and she recently commented on claims that she only got the job because of her husband.

Responding to comments made by former Islander Rachel Finni, Whitmore recently said: “I’ve worked in telly for 14 years. I won a competition to be the face of MTV and have stayed working from job to job. I’ve done incredible things all over the world, I’ve worked with the best teams, but I’ve never got a job because of a guy I dated.
